For groups of experienced backcountry skiers and snowboarders, we offer self-guided yurt-stay options. You pull together 4 or more friends to join you on an epic ski trip in Central Asia, and Jalpak Tash is all yours for as many days as you'd like.

Jalpak-Tash skiing base (Issyk-Kul)

KTS will assist you with the essential logistics of your trip, but it will be up to you and your crew to negotiate your way to our meeting point in Karakol, a well-known resort destination in Kyrgyzstan's popular Lake Issyk Kol region. KTS representatives will greet you there to brief you on the lodge, surrounding terrain, and current conditions, and set you up for your final 25km ground transfer to Ichke Jergez village.

From there, you'll enjoy a stay that's catered to your liking, with the chance to help our local and international partners as much or as little as you'd like in preparing traditional meals, splitting firewood, melting drinking water, and keeping the lodge.

In many ways, a self-guided tour is complete with all of the comforts of a guided tour. The only difference, really, is that you won't be relying on guides to point you in the direction of the area's many powder stashes...and once you find them, the skiing is all yours!
