Throughout this proposed tour, you will appreciate this disappearing way of life, the one of Kyrgyz nomads from ancient Eurasia.
Day 1: Arrival in Bishkek, accommodation at the hotel. Stroll through Bishkek. Visit of city's curiosities and oriental Bazars (markets).
Day 2: Travel to Cholpon-Ata city, on the northern bank of Yssyk-Kul, the second biggest mountain lake in the world, situated 1600 meters above the sea level. Rest on the lakeshore in a unique combination between mountainous and marine climate. Visit of the petroglyphe's field from Cholpon-Ata and the Burana tower on the road.
Day 3: Visit of the majestic Grigorievskoe and Semenovskoe gorges, up north to the city of Cholpon-Ata. Travel to Karakol, at the extreme east of the Yssyk-Kul lake. Visit of markets and churches. Night in the hotel.
Day 4: Travel to the scenic Djety-Oguz gorges. Hiking and horse trekking in a wonderful landscape. Video presentation of Kyrgyzstan in open air environment. Night in the yurt.
Day 5: Visit of Barskoon gorges. In this place, the human mind is driven to mediation, facing these mountains, these waterfalls and people living under the yurt. Arrival in Tamga. Night in the hotel.
Day 6: Departure to Naryn, following the former Silk Road and through the Dolon Pass (3035 m). Visit of Kochkor handicraft's association with possibility to buy felt local products. Night in the hotel.
Day 7: Departure to the At-Bashy valley and Kamandy valley (Eastern part of the At-Bashy Region). Stay in shepherd's home where you will appreciate the Kyrgyz Shepherd's way of life. Night in the yurt.
Day 8: Trip to Tash-Rabat Caravanserai (afternoon), the most important building from the Silk Road in Kyrgyzstan. Date from the 11th century and restored in the eighties, this historical monument was described as “the best preserved monument with the most genuine atmosphere of all the Silk Road”, in other words, the most representative building for Kyrgyzstan.
Day 9: Hiking or horse trekking until the high mountain's lake, Chatyr Kul (3530 m). Don't forget your camera to catch this unique landscape and the numerous yaks. Night in the yurt in Tash-Rabat.
Day 10: Route by the Moldo Pass until the Song-Kul lake (3013 m), a wonderful and very famous place in Kyrgyzstan. Surrounded by rich pasture, this region allows hiking and horse trekking but also swimming for the most courageous. Night in the yurt.
Day 11: Hiking and horse trekking. Visit to the nomads.
Day 12: Route by the Karakeche pass until the Chychkan gorge, following the Silk Road and Ala Bel pass.
Day 13: Trip until the Sary-Chelek Biosphere reserve and visit of the Sary-Chelek lake (40 km from Tash-Komur). View on the Chychkan gorges and on the Toktogul reservoir, from which Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan are taking water. Night in Sary-Chelek.
Day 14: Route to Jalal-Abad city. Visits of local curiosities. Night in hotel.
Day 15: Visit of the endemic walnut forest in Arslanbab, to the north of Jalal-Abad and on the oriental Ferghana's crest. Route to Osh and night in hotel.
Day 16: Visit of the Osh Bazar, one of the biggest in Kyrgyzstan, where Kyrgyz and Uzbek work together, talk together and share goods of all kinds. Track to the Solomon's throne, a hill overhanging the city where the prophet Solomon stopped to pray, the place called Sulaiman Tou.
Day 17: This is the end of the tour and we will take you to Osh airport and you will have the flight to Bishkek and from there to the native land.
Cooking during the trip will be prepared according to the volition of the client (local or European meal, combination). In the jailoo (summer pasture), there will be local meals made prepared with mutton, and the famous kumiss. Kumiss is the Kyrgyz national drink, made with fermented mare milk and very toning. As you can see, the program is heavy and it can be changed according to your desires, date of arrival included.
The Kyrgyz visa can be obtained without difficulties in Manas Airport for 36$ (just think to change this amount before the departure).
You can change euros and dollars in Bishkek, Osh and Karakol.
During the tour, transport will be done by a 4WD minibus and you will be accompanied by a well-experienced guide-interpreter, an organizer and a driver.
Plan the necessary vaccinations (rabies, hepatitis), a small first-aid kit and some medicines. It is better if each participant has got his personal insurance.
